A three-colour metallic screen print featuring Chris Bigg’s 1991 Pixies logo concept, revived for the 2024 Pixies at the BBC vinyl release — an A2 edition of 100, each signed by the artist.
A three-color screen print using bespoke metallic silver and metallic copper inks, printed on GF Smith Colorplan Natural 270gsm. A2 size (420 × 594 mm), in an edition of 100, each signed by Chris Bigg.
Chris Bigg writes: “This logo was designed by me and pitched to Vaughan Oliver and the Pixies in 1991. Working with Vaughan, he always encouraged ideas and experimentation across every project in the studio. We were constantly producing logos and visual concepts, regardless of whether a project was officially on the schedule. All of this work was displayed on ‘The Studio Wall’ for consideration. This particular idea never made the final cut.
Last year, the opportunity came to reimagine the CD-only release of “Pixies at the BBC” as a triple 12” vinyl edition, released on 4AD in January 2024. I spoke with Simon Larbalestier about out-take images from that period, and this logo was finally used on one of the three inner sleeves.”
